PSG Clinches Ligue 1 Title After Monaco’s Defeat to Lyon

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have officially secured the Ligue 1 title.

This was confirmed after AS Monaco lost to Lyon on Sunday, allowing PSG to clinch the championship despite drawing 3-3 with Le Havre on Saturday. PSG had needed Monaco to drop points to secure the title last weekend.

Monaco’s defeat left them with 59 points, which is 11 points behind Paris Saint Germain, who are led by manager Luis Enrique. With only three matches left in the season, PSG’s lead is insurmountable.

PSG’s triumph continues their dominance in French football, having won 10 of the last 13 Ligue 1 titles since the club was taken over by Qatari Sports Investment in 2011.

The French giants are still in the running to win all four major domestic trophies this season.
