“the opening of oral proceedings against the four footballers allegedly involved in the recording and/or non-consensual distribution of videos with sexual content involving a minor and another young woman.” – the court declared.
The ruling, issued on September 2, stands as final and cannot be appealed.
The court has not set a start date for the trial.
Raul Asencio confirmed in May that authorities named him among the accused, but he denied any wrongdoing.
He insisted on his “innocence of any criminal conduct” and noted the court has not accused him of filming or taking part in the video.
Court papers seen by AFP show the four players faced indictment over “the recording or non-consensual dissemination of videos of a sexual nature involving a minor and another young girl,” who were 16 and 18 at the time.
The case first broke in September 2023 when the mother of the 16-year-old filed a complaint.
Then, police arrested three unnamed Real Madrid academy players at the club’s training ground.
Media reports say one player recorded a consensual encounter in June 2023 at a beach club in Gran Canaria and later shared the footage without the girl’s consent.

Since the allegations surfaced, Raul Asencio, 22, has drawn jeers from fans at several matches.
In some stadiums, supporters even chanted hostile slogans, showing how quickly a player’s reputation can suffer before any court finds the facts.
For now, the legal process will play out in court. Clubs, fans and the media will watch closely.
Meanwhile, Raul Ascencio’s future at Real Madrid will ultimately depend on the facts presented when oral proceedings begin.
