According to the former Rivers governor, he is confident that the Assembly will act in line with the President’s position and expects Governor Fubara to also honour his own commitments to restore peace.

“I have told the Assembly to do the needful and obey Mr President, which I know they will not hesitate to do,” Wike said.

He added that he believes the governor will equally play his part to prevent a recurrence of the political turmoil that has unsettled the state in recent months.

“I also believe the governor will carry out his own part to make sure this is the final time Rivers people will hear this kind of discord,” he stated.

The crisis between Fubara and the Rivers State House of Assembly has drawn national attention, prompting intervention from President Tinubu in a bid to stabilise the oil-rich state.
