BREAKING: Court Grants Rivers PDP Guber Aspirant, Farah Dagogo Bail

Rivers State governorship aspirant, Farah Dagogo has been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, on Thursday.

Daily Report Nigeria recalls that the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency was arrested on April 28, over alleged disruption of screening exercise for house of assembly aspirants.

Farah was arrested on the orders of Governor Nyesom Wike, who claimed that the gubernatorial aspirant disrupted the said exercise with cultists.

The lawmaker’s arrest has since attracted condemnation, particularly from the Ijaw National Congress and its youthful counterpart, Ijaw Youth Council.

However, Justice E. A. Obile in an ex parte application sought by Farah Dagogo ordered Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID Port Harcourt, Commander police team Government House, Attorney General of River State and Chief Magistrate AMADI NNA to release the applicant from police detention and restore his personal liberty.

Meanwhile, it is not clear if Farah would be allowed to take part in the forthcoming governorship primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
