The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) announced today that the 2024 Local Government Elections will be held on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
The decision was made after a meeting with stakeholders, which included the unveiling of the timetable and guidelines for the upcoming elections.
The announcement marks the start of preparations for the polls, following the expiration of the tenure of the former councils and their dissolution by Governor Sim Fubara.
