Robbers Rape Lady Inside Assemblies of God Church in Abakaliki

A lady was on Wednesday raped by Robbers who invaded an Assemblies of God church in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi state capital.

She was a youth belonging to the drama wing of the church, who were said to be having an all-night rehearsal in preparation for a drama program slated for Friday when they were attacked by hoodlums.

A source reported that while the girl was being raped, they shot another, who resisted their attempts to have carnal knowledge of her, on the lap.

The robbers reportedly stole some equipment belonging to the church after the act.

Other youths in the same programme were said to have fled the scene during the incident.

However, some elders in the church confirmed the report.

“Yes what you heard is true, we were called this morning to be notified on the incident, however, we will not be able to give you all the details you require now”, said one of them who pleased anonymity.

“Our pastor who is in charge of this place is not available now, he stayed awake all through the night that this thing happened and he is down now.

“However the matter has been reported to the police and the girls have been taken to hospital for treatment,” he said.
