Security forces in Benue State successfully repelled an armed bandits’ attack on Ukohol, a community in Yelewata district of Guma Local Government Area, on Sunday.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the village in what is believed to have been a retaliatory strike following the arrest of one of their members the previous day.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Daudu coordinated a joint response team comprising the Special Intervention Squad (SIS), Police Mobile Force (PMF), Operation Zenda, and the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU). The team engaged the criminals in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
“The bandits, overwhelmed by the superior firepower of the security forces, eventually retreated,” a police source said.
Authorities confirmed that residents trapped during the attack were successfully evacuated, with all but one individual rescued unhurt.
Police sources further disclosed that a search-and-rescue operation, including bush combing, has been launched in the area to track down the fleeing assailants and recover the missing person.
Gbemisola Oladepo has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Zone XI Command in Osogbo for allegedly physically abusing her five-year-old niece.
Confirming the arrest on Monday, the Zone XI Police Command Public Relations Officer, Ade Ogunyemi, told DAILY POST that Oladepo was detained following a report of the abuse.
