Sergio Ramos is set to leave Sevilla after his contract expired, the La Liga club announced on Monday.

Ramos, who made 37 appearances and scored seven goals last season, played a key role as Sevilla finished 14th.

According to ESPN, Sevilla wanted the 38-year-old to stay, but Ramos decided to move on due to the team’s poor sporting and institutional situation.

Ramos is now attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and the MLS. However, he has yet to decide on his future and is keeping all options open.

On Tuesday, Ramos will hold a news conference at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium alongside Sevilla president José María del Nido Carrasco to formally announce his departure.
