He revealed that he faced being disowned multiple times by his father, who was in a polygamous marriage.
Seyi Awolowo, the grandson of the late Obafemi Awolowo, described how his father meticulously documented each child’s life in detailed files.
“In my father’s polygamous household with three wives,” Seyi explained, “he disowned several of us, not just me. He would write letters severing ties with his children, reducing us to mere names on a list. Each of us had our own file. ‘Right now, your name is Seyi, period,’ he would say.”
