Nigerian singer and pianist, Daniel Benson, professionally known as Buju, has announced a, change of his stage name to BNXN.
The afro-fusion star took to his official Twitter page to make this known.
Buju noted that his new name BNXN would be pronounced as ‘Benson’.

The singer said the change of name became necessary after he was mistaken for Jamaican singer, Buju Banton.
“It’s no longer ‘Buju’. Call me ‘Benson’ written as ‘BNXN’,” the announcement read.
The songwriter and pianist, now famous for being behind the hook of many current hit songs, has become one of the most sought-after artistes for collaboration.
His top features list include ‘Feeling’ with Ladipoe, ‘Mood’ with Wizkid, and ‘Peru’ freestyle.
Buju was initially signed to Burna Boy’s Spaceship Collective in 2020, but parted ways after his contract expired in 2021, saying he ‘wants to do something new on his own’.
The singer as already worked with top artistes, including Wizkid, The Cavemen, Timaya, Patoranking, Zlatan and Burna Boy.
