Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has approved the creation of 30 new public primary schools across communities in the state where none currently exist. The move, which underscores his commitment to quality education in Anambra, aims to ensure that every child, regardless of location, has access to learning opportunities.

Governor Soludo’s approval came during the first Executive Council Meeting following his re-election, where he received loud applause for his landslide victory in all 21 local government areas. Speaking at the meeting, the governor reaffirmed that education remains a key part of his development plan, emphasizing the need to close learning gaps in remote areas.

He noted that the newly approved schools will be strategically located in underserved communities to reduce long travel distances for children seeking basic education. “No child in Anambra should be denied education because of geography,” Soludo stated. “We are building an inclusive future where learning is available to all.”

According to a statement released by the state government, the schools will be equipped with modern facilities, qualified teachers, and digital tools as part of Soludo’s ongoing Smart Schools Initiative. The project aligns with his administration’s vision to make Anambra a hub for educational innovation and excellence.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially presented Soludo with his Certificate of Return after declaring him the winner of the 2025 Anambra gubernatorial election. The ceremony, held at the INEC office in Awka, was attended by top officials, including Supervising Electoral Commissioner Ken Ukeagu, who urged Soludo to lead with renewed unity and enterprise.

In his acceptance speech, Soludo thanked President Bola Tinubu for ensuring a free and fair electoral process, praising both INEC and security agencies for conducting a transparent poll. “There is hope for Nigeria,” he said. “Anambra has once again shown that democracy can work when the will of the people is respected.”
