Speaking to newsmen at the curtain raiser, founder of the JFA, Engr. Jude Gbaboyor noted that the tournament was aimed at engaging youths and taking them off the streets.

He said;

“We want to take youths off the streets. I’ve looked around and I’ve seen that most of our youths are not engaged and they are easily influenced by politicians during election seasons.

“I see sport as one thing we can use to engage our youths and I want to prove to our leaders in government that football is one big business to take youths off the streets.
