Isaba, Aladja Communities Cement Peaceful Coexistence With Unity Cup

Isaba and Aladja communities in Delta State have once again reiterated their commitment to peaceful coexistent as neighbours.

This follows the portrayal of skill and grit in the Novelty Peace & Unity Cup organized by the Jude Gbaboyor Football Academy.

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the first encounter of the two-legged tourney held in Aladja with both teams playing out a 3-3 draw.

The second leg held on Saturday at the Isaba Grammar School Field, the home ground of the Jude Gbaboyor Academy with the match ending scoreless at full time.

Aladja FC emerged victorious after a thrilling shootout that ended a 3-1 as supporters erupted in celebration.

According to the organizers, the event aimed at further uniting the two communities that have been somewhat divided in the past.

Before kicked-off, players from both teams took a knee in protest against violence and to send a message of peace and unity to the communities.

During the match, both teams displayed their skills in an intense game that ended in a draw with no goals scored in full time.

In his address, the Isaba Community Chairman Mr. Ibadan Ogugu reinforced the importance of peaceful coexistence between both communities.

Ogugu spoke against violence during conflicts and urged both communities to seek dialogue and other peaceful means to resolve disputes.

He also commended Engr. Jude Gbaboyor for organising the event, adding that the initiative has brought joy to both communities.

The coach for Aladja FC, Mr. Juru Ayoro, also praised the program, stressing that events like this are vital for fostering a strong sense of brotherly love between the communities. He lauded Engr. Jude Gbaboyor for his outstanding idea which brought them together.

A chief from the Aladja community, Chief Udumaro Segba, also spoke during the event. He expressed gratitude for the initiative and prayed for a peaceful coexistence between the two communities, emphasizing that Unity is key.

Engr. Jude Gbaboyor, in his speech, urged the youth not to allow themselves to be used as tools for violence. He advised them to deploy other peaceful means to resolve conflicts. He commended both communities for their peaceful conduct during the event and challenged them to sustain the gesture beyond the event.

The presentation of medals and cups to both teams was the highlight of the novelty match, marking the success of the event. The joy and excitement were evident on the faces of everyone in attendance.
