Former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has named Aston Villa coach, Unai Emery as the best football manager in the world. Despite popular opinions favoring Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Oliseh praised Emery after he led Aston Villa to the semifinals of a European competition for the first time since 1982.
Aston Villa reached the last four of the UEFA Europa Conference League after a dramatic penalty shootout win over French club Lille at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy. Emery’s achievement has further cemented his reputation as a top-tier manager, especially after he took over Villa in October 2022 following Steven Gerrard’s dismissal.
Sunday Oliseh praise came via a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he responded to the buzz around Emery’s success, stating, “Arguably the best coach in the world! Unai Emery is simply phenomenal.” Aston Villa’s current fourth place in the English Premier League standings under Emery’s leadership also puts them on track to qualify for the Champions League for the first time, a remarkable feat for the Spanish tactician.
