Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre recently underwent successful surgery in Saudi Arabia. This procedure followed an injury she sustained while playing for her Saudi club, Al Ittihad, last month.
The injury was significant enough to force Plumptre to miss Nigeria’s 2024 Olympic Games qualifier against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana. Her absence was felt, given her crucial role in the national team’s defense.
Plumptre, who previously played for Leicester City, shared the news of her surgery on social media. She expressed her gratitude to her club, the Nigerian national team, and her fans for their ongoing support throughout her recovery.
