The Nigerian government has granted Belema Sweet Export Terminal Limited, a subsidiary of BelemaOil Producing Limited, owned by Mr Tein Jack-Rich, a license to establish a crude export terminal.

The Nigerian Mainstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) awarded the license to Jack-Rich during a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday.

The license will make Belema Sweet Export Terminal the second indigenous oil company to receive such authorization, after the government-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Exploration and Production Limited.

The NNPCL Exploration and Production Ltd was also awarded its license on Tuesday and will operate the Utapate Export Terminal in Akwa Ibom State, while Belema Sweet Export Terminal Ltd’s terminal will be situated in Rivers State.

Notably, the establishment of the Belema Sweet Export Terminal will create job opportunities for the people of Rivers State and beyond as well as boost the economy of the region.
