Reports from PUNCH Metro revealed the landlord of the house, Adebesin Adebayo, raised the alarm and reported to the police, after he hadn’t seen the deceased in the area.
Confirming the incident to PUNCH, the command spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola said police operatives in the Kemta Divisional Police under the Ogun State Police Command swung into action ok Tuesday, as they break down the door to gain entrance.
On breaking the door, stench filled the air, and the police found the lifeless body of the woman which had swollen up. This made the command suspect a suicide case.
Odutola stated,
“Worried about her well-being, he went to her apartment and noticed a strong, unpleasant odour coming from inside. The door to her apartment was locked inside, prompting him to raise the alarm.”
The officers broke into the apartment and found Olusanya’s body lying on the bed, swollen, suggesting that she had been deceased for some time,”
She further stated that efforts to transport the lifeless body to the morgue proved abortive, as there was no adequate medical equipments to prevent possible infection.
Odutola added that the scene was secured and cordoned off the area as police detectives continued their investigation.
