Terrorist Attack: Abba Kyari Moved Out Of Kuje Prison | Daily Report Nigeria

Abba Kyari, the suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police, has been reportedly moved out of Kuje Medium Security Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Kyari was moved out of the prison a few after terrorists raided the building to free some of their members on Tuesday night, according to sources.

Moreso, most of the violent criminals and terrorists in the facility were also released by the attackers into the Federal Capital Territory.

But, many high-profile inmates stayed back during the Tuesday night attack, which lasted about three hours, reports stated.

In a chat with Peoples Gazette, a correction officer ( name withheld) disclosed that inmates like Abba Kyari, Farouk Lawan, and other prominent detainees were among those who stayed back.

Kyari was remanded in the prison earlier this year and is standing trial for allegedly dealing in cocaine alongside four members of his former police unit, two others arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Correctional Service has confirmed the attack on its facility in the Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Umar Abubakar, the spokesman for the service, reacting to the incident explained an armed squad of the service along with other security agencies responded to the attack.

The area, according to Abubakar’s statement released in the early hours of Wednesday has returned to its calm state.
