In Ago Dada, Ondo State’s Akure North local government area, four youths are said to have been killed by a thunderstorm.
According to newsmen, the incident happened on Wednesday evening, March 30 during a rainstorm in the village.
The death of the youths reportedly sparked a protest in the village on Thursday, which resulted in the death of an elderly man and property destruction by the enraged youth.

As stated by the source, the youths were upset because the four youths killed by the thunderstorm were all non-indigenes.
He went on to say that the non-indigenes in the village, enraged by the incident, decided to attack the indigenes and destroy their properties as well.
He said:
“The youths of the village took up arms this morning (Thursday) which resulted in the killing of an elderly man in the village. The grouse of the youths was that the four youths killed were all non-indigenes. Some buildings belonging to Akure indigenes were vandalized.”
It was said that Mrs. Funmilayo Odunlami, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the incident but denied that there was any protest in the village.
