Hakeem Baba-Ahmed was the brother to Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed and Vice Presidential Candidate from the Labour Party (LP) in the February 25 elections.
The surprising appointment comes despite Baba-Ahmed’s history of being a strong critic of the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
Hakeem Baba-Ahmed announced on Monday, September 17, through a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.
He said:
“It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP, @KShettim.
“This is not the time for fence-sitting or criticism when you can be useful in turning the country round. I am honored and humbled. Please pray for me & Nigeria.”
