In a bid to alleviate the high cost of living for Nigerian workers, President Bola Tinubu has promised to donate 36 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC).
The buses, each with a 100-seat capacity, aim to provide affordable and sustainable transportation options for workers.

According to the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the gesture is part of the federal government’s efforts to ease the burden of high transportation costs on workers.
“As a way of ameliorating the high cost of living by workers, President Bola Tinubu has promised to give 36 CNG-powered buses with a sitting capacity of 100 each to the TUC and NLC,” Onanuga stated.

This development comes after President Tinubu approved a ₦70,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers, promising to review the national minimum wage law every three years.
The President also pledged to find ways to assist the private sector and sub-nationals in paying the minimum wage.
