Tinubu Orders Ministers to Render Performance Reports

To mark his first anniversary in office, President Bola Tinubu has ordered his ministers to share their progress reports with the public.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the announcement during a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday.

Idris revealed that the low-key celebration would feature media briefings by all 47 federal ministers starting from Thursday.

He was accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, during the press conference.

Recall that at the opening of a three-day cabinet retreat last November, Tinubu stated that his ministers’ performance would be regularly evaluated, with quarterly reviews determining their continued tenure in office.

Tinubu had said:

If you are performing, nothing to fear. If you miss the objective, we’ll review it. If no performance, you leave us. No one is an island and the buck stops on my desk.”
