President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Nigerian Air Force to commence round-the-clock aerial surveillance over forests in Kwara, Kebbi and Niger States as part of intensified efforts to tackle escalating kidnappings and armed attacks across the region.
The directive, announced on Tuesday by presidential aide Sunday Dare, mandates security operatives to extend surveillance “into the deepest parts of the forests” where armed groups are suspected to be operating.

Dare said the President also instructed the Air Force to work closely with ground troops already carrying out counter-terrorism and rescue missions, stressing that Tinubu has adopted an “all-out, no-retreat” strategy until all abducted persons are rescued and criminal networks dismantled.
The move follows a series of major incidents, including the mass abduction of worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and coordinated attacks in parts of Kebbi and Niger States. While some victims have regained freedom, security agencies believe others are still held in remote forest camps.
Tinubu urged affected communities to provide timely intelligence to support the expanded operations and help security forces respond more swiftly.
