After the swearing-in ceremony, Walson-Jack promised to build on existing reforms and bring innovations and creativity to the service.

She acknowledged the legacy of her predecessor and pledged to take the civil service to greater heights.

Yemi-Esan, in her valedictory speech, urged civil servants to be professional in their duties and always put the progress of the nation first.

She stressed that public servants were servants of the nation and should work towards achieving greatness for Nigeria.

The FEC meeting went into a closed-door session after the event, with the newly sworn-in HoS, Walson-Jack, in attendance.

The meeting will discuss key issues affecting the nation and ways to address them.
