USA Wins Olympics as Team Nigeria Finishes 74th

Team United States of America finished as overall winners of the just concluded Tokyo Olympics with 39 golds, 41 silver and 33 bronze and combined total of 113 medals.

They were closely followed by China with 38 gold, 32 silver and 18 bronze medals, making up a total of 88 medals.

In the just-concluded Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, Team Nigeria ended as the 74th best country. The U.s won the highest number of medals in the U.S.A.

What’s the African Countries rating?
Nigeria won one silver medal and one bronze medal in wrestling and the long jump, respectively. The Medals won made them the sixth-best team from Africa.

Kenya is Africa’s number one team; they had four gold medals, four silvers, and two bronze medals. Other African countries had: South Africa (one gold, two silver) to place second, Egypt (one gold, one silver, four bronze) to go third, Tunisia (one gold, one silver) to rank fourth, Morocco (one gold) to place fifth.

Who Tops the Medals table?
The United States finished the competition as champions in the following games: basketball, volleyball, and track cycling. The U.S. finished with 39 gold medals for the Game.
China finished with 38 gold medals. For the third successive Olympics, the United States holds on to the top position.
Japan won the third in the table after amassing 58 medals, including 27 golds, while Team G.B. finished fourth on 65 awards, making up 22 golds, 21 silvers, and 22 bronzes.

The Finals of the Olympics
In the finals, the all-conquering women’s basketball team were 90-75 winners over Japan, winning gold for the seventh successive Olympics.
In 1992 they last lost at the Games at Barcelona. Ever since, they have never been in danger of surrendering their undefeated streak as Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi won the fifth gold medal of their impeccable careers.
Jennifer Valente won from the multi-race omnium cycling event at the Izu Velodrome as the 26-year-old from San Diego bagged the first Olympic gold of her career.
The men among the U.S. ranks had always won volleyball gold medals, but now the women have triumphed at the Olympics level.
The women’s team secured their first visit to the top step of the Games podium by a 3-0 win over Brazil in the final held on Sunday.

Views from the participants
A 25-year-old star of the team, Haleigh Washington, said that “It’s a great day to have a gold-medal day. The hard work they put in, the sweat, the tears, the blood has been worth it. She is so proud to have done it with this group of women. I am so honored.”
Coach Karch Kiraly added: “I am so happy for this team and these amazing women in this program. I told them not only are they bad-asses, but they are now the gold medalists.”
