Tottenham Appoint Nuno Espirito on Two-Year Deal

English Premier League outfit, Tottenham Hotspurs have signed 47 years-old Portuguese Coach, Nuno Espirito as their manager.

The London-based football club snapped up Nuno from fellow premier league team, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Nuno put pen to paper on Tuesday in a deal that will span two seasons.

Spurs have been without a manager since the sacking of pragmatic Portuguese Gaffer, Jose Mourinho.

Following the sacking, Ryan Mason emerged as caretaker boss who has steered the club through till the end of the 2020/2021 season.

Prior to Nuno’s appointment, a list of managers including Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca, Gennaro Gattuso,  even Mauricio Pochettino, their formal boss have all been linked with the team.

The club have however turned to Nuno after his tenure with Wolves expired in May.m

Nuno has managed Rio Ave from 2012-2014, Valencia 2014-2015, Porto 2016-2017 and Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2017 till 2021 before his new appointment as Spurs manager.

Santo Has achieved an unquestioned success  at Wolves by delivering the championship title followed by successive seventh-placed Premier League finish, and a Europa League quarter final place.

The Portuguese will now have to work with Fabio Paratici, the new director of football till 2023 when his signed deal with the club will expire.

“When you have a squad with quality and talent, we want to make the fans proud and enjoy,” Nuno had said prior to his appointment.

“It’s an enormous pleasure and honour [to be here], there’s joy and I’m happy and looking forward to starting work. We don’t have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days.”
