The Defence Headquarters has announced that troops deployed in the Niger Delta have destroyed 36 illegal refining sites and killed 106 terrorists in the North, while rescuing 103 abductees.
Additionally, troops stopped the theft of crude oil worth N793 million and recovered large quantities of stolen oil and ammunition.

According to the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, “Troops in the Niger Delta area discovered and destroyed 20 dugout pits, 24 boats and 34 storage tanks. We are finding them, flushing them out and dismantling their military, administrative and logistics capabilities across the various theatres.”
Buba also noted that troops recovered 125 assorted weapons and 1,522 assorted ammunition, and emphasized that the ongoing military operations are focused on targeting the center of gravity of terrorists and their cohorts across the country.
