US President Donald Trump, has confirmed he has put all campaign tours on suspension following a contraction of the Coronavirus alongside his wife, Melanie.

Trump and Melanie tested positive for the lethal virus on Friday, subjecting themselves to self-isolation inside the White House and cancelling all upcoming appearances on the campaign trail ahead of a bitterly fought election.

The two were tested after a close aide, Hope Hicks tested positive earlier in the day.

The news came as a bombshell as more restrictions loomed in Europe in an attempt to contain the deadly pandemic.

Hicks was on board Air Force One with the president as he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio for the first presidential debate with his rival, Democrat Joe Biden, on Tuesday.

However, the White House doctor said both Trump and First Lady Melania were well and that Trump would continue his presidential “duties without disruption”.
