Benfica midfielder, Joao Mario has topped the list of best midfielders in Europe, according to FIFA.
The list was released after the first legs of the Champions League Round of sixteen were completed on Wednesday night.
Benfica defeated Club Brugge 7-1 on aggregate after two-legged matches in the round of sixteen with Mario in the Portuguese midfield.

The Portuguese Champions showed superiority in the Champions League round of 16 and booked their place in the quarter-finals with sublime fashion.
Mario scored 273 points to beat his closest rival, Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich, who came second on the list.
Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund scored 194 points to come third joined by fourth-placed Florentino of Benfica with 175 points and Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde with 172 points.
