The United Kingdom Government has commended the conduct of the concluded Edo state gubernatorial race.

It also congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki on his re-election as the Edo State Governor.

British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, congratulated the Governor through a tweet on Sunday.

Laing expressed gratitude to civil society organizations for their contribution towards ensuring a peaceful and credible voting exercise.

Her tweet reads;

“Congratulations @GovernorObaseki  @PastorIzeIyamu @inecnigeria on #EdoDecides2020. @UKinNigeria team observed credible process and commend both candidates for encouraging peace. Thanks to civil society partners @YIAGA @SituationRoomNg @cleenfoundation for their invaluable work,”
