The United States President, Donald Trump, on Tuesday told the United Nations (UN) General Assembly to hold the Republic of China responsible for its action over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump through a recorded message played to the general UN annual meeting accused Beijing of deliberately allowing COVID-19 to leave China and infect globally.

Trump further accused China of only looking after its interest when the potentially lethal virus initially appeared late last year in Wuhan, China.

“The Chinese government, and the World Health Organization — which is virtually controlled by China — falsely declared that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission.”

“Later, they falsely said people without symptoms would not spread the disease,” Trump said.
