There were some initial concerns about whether Victor Osimhen and Bright Osayi-Samuel would be available, but those fears have been laid to rest. Osimhen, who played a vital role in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Rwanda, had to come off in the 77th minute due to fatigue.

Meanwhile, Osayi-Samuel sustained a knock late in the game, which looked like a dead leg.

However, Coach Eric Chelle has confirmed that both players are fully fit and ready to step up when Nigeria faces Zimbabwe. At a recent press conference, the Malian coach reassured fans, saying, “No problem; all the players are fine and ready for the match.”

Nigeria’s Qualification Ambitions and Zimbabwe’s Struggle

The Super Eagles currently find themselves in fourth place in Group C with six points, and a win against Zimbabwe is essential for their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

A victory would boost Nigeria to nine points, keeping their qualification dreams alive.

On the flip side, Zimbabwe are sitting at the bottom of the group with just three points. They are eager to turn their fortunes around, making this match a must-win for both teams.

Nigeria vs Zimbabwe: What to Expect

With a fully fit squad and the advantage of playing at home in the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, the Super Eagles will be aiming to take control of the game and secure those all-important three points.

This match is set to be an exciting showdown, with Nigeria looking to solidify their position in the World Cup qualifiers, while Zimbabwe fights to stay in the race in Group C.

This crucial match is set to not only influence Nigeria’s chances of qualifying but also decide if Zimbabwe can breathe new life into its campaign. Fans should brace themselves for an electrifying clash as both teams give it their all in pursuit of victory.
