We’ll No Longer Tolerate killing, Assault On Officers – IGP
  • The IGP has vowed to protect the Nigerian police, as he gives his new year speech.

  • He noted that he would no longer fold his hands while police officers get assaulted or killed.

  • This comes after numerous stories of assault of the Nigerian police in the year 2024.

The Inspector General Of Police, IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun has listed sted the protection of police officers as part of his vows for the year 2025.

Speaking during his visit to the Enugu police headquarters on Friday, January 3 said the police will respond according to any form of assault on it’s officers.

The IGP said;

We’ll not tolerate any assault on our police officers, not to talk of killing. Any assault on policemen is criminal. It is an assault on police IGP. We are not going to take it kindly on any assault on our officers.

“We’ll not tolerate it anymore. In 2025, we are going to say no to assault on our police. We are going to say capital no to killing of our men.

In this year, we going to vigorously pursue our police vision for Nigeria. We shall emphasize professionalism. We shall emphasize ethical conduct of our officers. We shall emphasize training and retraining of officers.

“We’ll equip you with modern policing tools to discharge your duties effectively,” he added.
