Leading Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has explained why she declined an invitation to attend the 2023 Oscars Award ceremony in the United States of America.
The veteran thespian spoke via her Instagram post.
According to her, she chose not to attend the award ceremony due to patriotic reasons.

The 95th Academy Awards was a ceremony was held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on March 12, 2023, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
The event honored films released in 2022.
She said:
“Nigeria first…
Oscar season can wait…
“Focus Omotola… focus…
No FOMO…
First yet I get invited and I follow patriotism.
“There’s time for everything… Phew!”
This came after the actress asked western filmmakers to stop using Black Americans as African casts in their movies.
