Why King Solomon Had Many Wives, Concubines – Apostle Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman, the founder of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), has given his opinion on why King Solomon had so many wives and concubines.

Suleman stated that King Solomon married 700 wives from different kingdoms for bilateral trade or diplomatic purposes.

He was giving a sermon from the biblical story of Solomon and David.

According to the Cleric, David fought sixty-six battles, providing peace for his son Solomon.

However, he explained that the fact that King Solomon had 700 wives of royal birth and 300 concubines from different regions, it prevented his in-laws from waging war against him.

He said;

“War surrounds your testimony. You see, don’t copy or act like Solomon because you think you have known what to fight, David contended for Solomon, sixty-six battles and won all but when Solomon became a king, he operated in warfare but with wisdom.

“Solomon married seven hundred wives, three hundred concubines, not because he was promiscuous, it was a strategy. Solomon had 700 cities and regions surrounding him, so he picked a princess each from the palace, so no king could fight him, you can’t fight your in-law.

“All of them (kings) were inlaws so no king could fight him. You set up a war, your daughter is in the palace. He had one thousand, he didn’t know them by name, he was calling them by codes – ‘Florence 202.’

“So sometimes, God does not consult your present to determine your future.”
