Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State has explained why some of its offices do not have a portrait of President Bola Tinubu.
Otti was responding to some online reports that some offices in the governor’s mansion do not have the president’s portrait.
The Governor dismissed claims that the absence was because his government did not recognize Tinubu as the president of Nigeria.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Advocacy, Ferdinand Ekeoma, speaking on behalf of the governor, said the state government has Tinubu’s portrait in some of the offices but not all.
He added that the same applied to the governor as his picture was not seen in all of the offices in the state.
He said:
“We don’t have the governor’s portraits in most offices because this is a new government. We have placed some pictures and ordered for more. It has nothing to do with politics.
“The day the governor met with permanent secretaries we still had the former Governor Ikpeazu’s portrait in the banquet hall.
“It is criminal to say that the person who was duly sworn in as president will not be recognised. It doesn’t make sense, and we don’t think it is in that direction.”
The statement further explained that such media reports were probably sponsored by the opposition in the country to discredit the state Governor.
