The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, said the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) is responsible for roads within its estates, not the FCT Administration.

He emphasised that the FCT is focused on constructing roads that connect major districts and satellite towns in the capital.

Wike made this statement during his inspection of two major road projects in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that the FCT Administration will not construct roads within the Federal Housing Estate in Lugbe, insisting that the responsibility lies with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA).
Speaking during his inspection of two key road projects in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Wike clarified that the administration’s priority is on roads that enhance overall connectivity across the capital.

The roads under inspection were the 10.5-kilometre Kabusa/Ketti road and the 9.8-kilometre Kabusa/Takushara road, which link Kabusa to Pyakasa, Ketti, Takushara, and Wasa districts.
“The estate belongs to the Federal Housing Authority. They should be able to take care of their estate. The roads we should do are roads that will open up the entire city. We have told the Federal Housing Estate that the land was allocated to them, and they built the estate and sold it to residents. Let us open up the areas that link up to the major cities and the satellite towns before we begin to talk about building roads within estates,”he said.
