The defecting lawmakers are said to be loyalists to the former governor, who had boasted of purchasing all their forms for the elections.
In the build-up to the 2023 elections, Wike had vehemently denounced any form of association with the APC, ascribing such a move to like leaving malaria to get Cancer.
The minister also infamously worked against his party during the presidential election to secure a slim victory for the APC in Rivers State.
However, an official deflection of Wike to the APC will further fuel the ongoing crisis in Rivers State.
