Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong is on the brink of returning to the pitch after a period on the sidelines due to injury.

William Troost-Ekong underwent surgery in February for an injury he sustained during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP).

The 30-year-old shared an update on his recovery through an Instagram post, showing himself engaged in light training and physical exercises on the field, signaling his commitment and determination to get back into action.

It’s expected that Troost-Ekong will return to play before the current season ends, and he should also be fit for Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin in June.
