Wizkid, Davido Using Controversy to Remain Relevant in Music Industry – Portable | Daily Report Nigeria

Controversial Nigerian artist Portable has criticized music icons Wizkid and Davido, suggesting their ongoing feud is merely a tactic to maintain relevance in the industry.

The spat ignited on October 1, following a cryptic tweet from Wizkid interpreted as a dig at Davido, who had just teased a new single.

The exchange quickly escalated, with both artists trading insults on social media. Wizkid planned to release a new track from his anticipated album “Morayo” on the same day, further intensifying the rivalry.

Portable, in a recent Instagram post, stated, “Don’t use your brother to shine, shine yourself. Una songs no dey market again, na fight una dey use do promotion.” He asserted that both artists are struggling with their music sales and resorting to drama to draw attention.

His comments come amid a backdrop of escalating tensions in the Nigerian music scene, highlighting a shift towards social media theatrics over musical talent.
