A Delta State housewife has been arrested after allegedly killing her husband and his suspected lover during a violent confrontation linked to infidelity in the Ighwre-Ovie area of Ughelli North Local Government Area.
The tragic incident involved a woman from Isoko ethnic extraction, who reportedly attacked her husband following prolonged disputes over his alleged extramarital relationship.

According to sources familiar with the case, the woman had repeatedly accused her husband of maintaining an affair. Tensions reportedly escalated on the day of the incident when the man returned home in an intoxicated state, leading to a fatal confrontation.
A source told Vanguard that the suspect allegedly turned violent shortly after her husband entered the house, resulting in his death. In the process, a female neighbour who attempted to calm the situation was also attacked and sustained serious injuries. She is currently receiving medical treatment.
The source further revealed that the woman later went to the residence of her husband’s alleged lover, who lived within the same community, where another fatal attack occurred before residents raised an alarm.
“She had accused him of cheating for a long time. That day, everything spiralled out of control,” the source said.
Community members reportedly intervened after hearing distress calls, leading to the arrest of the suspect, who is now being held at the Ughelli Area Command while investigations continue.
The incident has renewed public concern over rising cases of domestic violence across Nigeria, coming shortly after another deadly domestic dispute was reported in Ogun State.
Police authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the Delta incident, but investigations are ongoing.
