Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez pointed to his team’s errors as the reason for their 3-2 loss to Real Madrid on Sunday.

Barcelona started strong with a goal from Andreas Christensen’s header, but Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr leveled the score with a penalty.

Barcelona regained the lead with 20 minutes left, thanks to a goal from substitute Fermín López. However, Madrid equalized again through Vázquez, and Jude Bellingham’s late goal sealed the win for Real Madrid, extending their lead over Barcelona to 11 points in LaLiga.

“I am proud of the team, especially in the second half,” Xavi said.

“We tried. We were good, but mistakes have cost us the defeat.

“Normally, based on how the game went, we win. We deserved the victory. We created more and defended well. We controlled the game.”
