Zinedine Zidane Rules Out Manchester United Job Due to a Barrier

Zinedine Zidane

Former France midfielder Zinedine Zidane has acknowledged that it’s unlikely he’ll ever manage Manchester United, citing his hesitance to work in England as a significant reason.

Zidane, who has been out of coaching since leaving Real Madrid for the second time in 2021, has been frequently linked with major clubs like United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich.

However, the 52-year-old has now clarified that the language barrier is a major factor in his reluctance to take on a role in the Premier League. In an interview with L’Equipe, Zidane said, “Would I want to go to Manchester [United]? I understand English, but I’m not completely fluent.”

“I know there are coaches who manage without speaking the language, but I approach things differently,” he explained. Zinedine Zidane further added, “There are many factors involved in achieving success; it’s about the entire environment. I know what I need to win.”
