A yet-to-be-identified 10-year-old boy has reportedly killed his unnamed friend, aged 12, with a pistol in Bayelsa State.
It was said that the suspect committed the crime by using his grandfather’s pistol in the Otuan community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of the state during the week.
Reports insisted the two tweens friends were playing and mouthing possession of bulletproof charms.

According to an eyewitness, the deceased had boasted about having spiritual bulletproof and challenged his 10-year-old friend to shoot him.
The 10-year-old then ran into his grandfather’s room, retrieved a pistol, and fired shots at his friend, resulting in his death.
The owner of the pistol, an ex-serviceman, was not present at the time of the incident.
Following the shooting, the 10-year-old abandoned the gun and fled the scene.
A community source said:
“People are currently searching for the boy who is on the run. There is a tradition in the community that whoever kills another person in the community would be put to death instantly.”
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bayelsa State Command, Mr Asinim Butswat,, when contacted said the matter was yet to be reported to the police.
Butswa said:
“It (killing) has not been reported to the Police yet. But, we will find out if such an incident happened.”
The boys were reportedly acting scenes from a movie they had watched.
