Cultists Behead Newly Married Man in Bayelsa, Hangs Head on Pole

A newly married man, identified as Martins Honest Garando, has been beheaded by suspected cultists in Sagbama town, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Reports revealed that the 30-year-old was murdered in a battle for supremacy between two cult groups.

According to newsmen, the suspects invaded the victim’s house unawares at 1:30 am. They dragged him out, chopped his head, and took it away with them.

Having accomplished their mission, the assailants hung the severed head on an electric pole for the indigenes of the community to see.

The Spokesman of the State Police Command, SP Asinim Butswat, said after confirming the incident that police operatives have evacuated the corpse to St. Luke Mortuary in Sagbama, while they commenced an investigation.

The deceased is said to be the husband of one Belepeigha Gloria Oyins. They got married sometime in July 2021.

She had taken in during the marriage ceremony and later gave birth to a baby boy.
