2023: Tinubu Steps Down For Peter Obi

Speculations on Twitter revealed that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has stepped down for his Labour Party (LP) counterpart, Peter Obi.

The account claimed that Tinubu had stepped down for Obi as the latter has more to offer Nigerians.

It read:

“After careful observation of the Labour party manifesto I have come to agree that @PeterObi has more to offer Nigeria than I do, I’m hereby stepping down for HE Peter Obi I advice @atiku To do same let give the youths a chance.”

In another tweet, it mocked the ruling party’s presidential candidate, adding that Obi should be voted because Tinubu has only “garri, cassava and agbado” to offer.

It read, again:

I urge the well-meaning Nigerians to vote for HE Peter Obi as the next president, because honestly I don’t have anything to offer than garri cassava and agbado —na mumu go vote for me.”

A Twitter handle with the name @officalABqT had tweeted that ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

However, the tweet generated a lot of comments. Many suspected the account to have been cloned by a supporter of the LP while others tagged it as fake.
