The Niger State Police has arrested a 60-year-old man identified as Lawal Haruna, for allegedly raping an 8-year-old girl, a fish hawker.
It was learnt that Haruna had allegedly lured the victim with N100 into an uncompleted building where he forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
Confirming the incident, Niger state Police Command spokesman, ASP Wasiu Abiodun said that the incident occurred on Saturday, July 12, while the victim was hawking her edible goods (Fish).

Meanwhile, the suspect during interrogation has confessed to the crime.
Further investigations has commenced as the suspect will be duly prosecuted if found guilty within the law.
”The suspect has been interrogated and had confessed to the crime and will be arraigned in court as soon as investigation is concluded,” ASP Wasiu said.
