BREAKING: EFCC Storms Abdullahi Adamu’s Residence, Clashes With Police

The residence of Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was on Sunday night invaded by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Daily Report Nigeria reports that the EFCC operatives invaded Adamu’s residence at about 8pm to execute a search warrant.

The operatives of the anti-graft agency arrived in four trucks at Adamu’s house on Ali Akilu Crescent, by Aso Rock Presidential Villa, but met severe resistance from police orderlies attached to the politician.

Peoples Gazzette reports that the police operatives insisted it was past 6 pm and late for any search operation even though they were shown a warrant signed by a judge.

The standoff lasted for hours, with no casualties reported. Spokespersons for the police and the EFCC were not available for comment, People’s Gazette reports.

While the content of the warrant was not disclosed, Adamu had previously gaced corruption allegations and a probe on him is still a possibility.

A source told the publication, “The police officers said no one can enter the house because it was already past 6:00 p.m. and already late for any search operation.

“They said they won’t allow anyone inside even if they go back to bring the judge that signed the warrant.”

Meanwhile, the embattled APC National Chairman reportedly tendered his resignation letter on Sunday night ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s return from the African Union summit in Kenya.
