Miyetti Allah Demands Subsidy Palliatives From FG, States

The Miyetti Allah Association has appealed to the federal and state governments to consider their member shepherds in the distribution of subsidy removal palliatives.

Chairman of the Kwara chapter of the association, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, made the appeal while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin on Monday.

Abubakar explained that the people most affected during this period were herders.

According to him, the majority of herders do not have bank accounts that allow them to easily access money when they need it.

He added that when herders go to sell their livestock to market, transport costs consume most of their money.

The Chairman also bemoaned the escalating prices of food products in the market.

He appealed to the government to release food from the national stockpile and sell it at subsidized prices to ordinary Nigerians.

Abubakar also called on the government to support members with vaccinations to prevent the death of livestock due to strange diseases.

He warned the Fulani criminal elements to reject crime and other social vices for their gain.

Abubakar also advised headers and farmers to engage in dialogue to resolve differences and ensure peaceful coexistence among the various communities.
