Bodyguard of Lionel Messi Banned from Field in CONCACAF Clash After Altercation

Lionel Messi

Yassine Chueko, the bodyguard of Lionel Messi, has been prohibited from accessing the field during the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final clash between Inter Miami and Monterrey. However, he will still be permitted to enter the locker room and mixed area, as reported by The Mirror.

This sanction comes in response to the events following the first leg in Miami on April 3, where Monterrey secured a 2-1 away victory, gaining an advantage in the quest for a semi-final spot.

Following the match, Lionel Messi, sidelined due to injury, was involved in a confrontation with Monterrey’s manager, Fernando Ortiz, and assistant coach Nico Sanchez. The altercation stemmed from Ortiz’s pre-game remarks, implying biased officiating in favor of Miami.

According to The Mirror, Sanchez referred to Messi as a “possessed dwarf, who has the face of the devil.” It seems that Messi’s bodyguard, responsible for the security of the superstar’s family, was also involved in the altercation, leading to his ban from the playing field.

Messi is expected to feature for Inter Miami in the upcoming match.
